Where Ideas Take Shape
In The Architecture Lab, students dive into hands-on projects that blend creativity with real-world architectural thinking. From designing merry-go-rounds and emergency shelters to building treehouses and tiny worlds, each project introduces key concepts like scale, symmetry, structure, and design thinking. Students learn to sketch, plan, and build like architects—while exploring how buildings shape the world around us

Where Stories Begin
Welcome to Writing Lab Jr., a joyful and imaginative space where young writers get to experiment with language, play with ideas, and discover the power of their own voices. In this hands-on, high-energy class, students will create everything from survival guides for silly situations to poems made from unexpected sources. Each week brings a fresh and creative challenge—whether it’s solving a mystery sparked by a strange image, writing from the point of view of a backpack, or crafting a letter to the future. With a focus on curiosity, self-expression, and fun, students will explore different formats and genres while building confidence as writers and storytellers. All levels welcome—just bring your imagination!
Grades 3-5

Invent It. Test It. Brand It.
This isn’t just any lab—it’s where young scientists invent real-world products from scratch. In this hands-on science class, students will explore the real chemistry behind everyday products and then invent their own. From toothpaste to glow-in-the-dark potions, students will mix, test, and refine secret formulas each week while learning key chemistry concepts like pH, solubility, emulsions, and reactions. Along the way, they’ll dive into product design, branding, and marketing as they create their own labels and pitch their creations. This class is perfect for curious creators who love experimenting, building, and thinking like young scientists. We’ll wrap up the session with a lively Product Expo where students showcase their inventions and the science behind them!

Find Your Writer's Voice
Writing Lab is a yearlong creative writing workshop for middle schoolers who are ready to take risks, explore new forms, and dive deep into the art of storytelling. This is not your typical writing class—each week invites students into a fresh creative experiment. Writers will explore surrealist freewrites, found poetry, time travel logs, poetic recipes, and more. Some projects are collaborative, some are reflective, but all are designed to stretch students’ thinking and spark their imaginations. We’ll dive into voice, structure, humor, and depth while building a supportive community of writers. No formal essays, no worksheets—just imaginative exploration, thoughtful feedback, and the joy of discovering what writing can be.
Grades 6-8

Exploring the Science of Seeing
From solar ovens to kaleidoscopes, this hands-on science course reveals the wonders of light and vision. Through dynamic experiments, demonstrations, and STEAM-based projects, students investigate how light travels, bends, reflects, and transforms energy. They'll build pinhole cameras, decode secret messages, experiment with color filters and mirrors, and model how light creates shadows and images. Along the way, we'll delve into the mysteries of auroras, explore why certain objects glow in the dark, and compare how sound and light help us communicate. Blending creativity, critical thinking, and scientific exploration, this class invites students to discover just how bright the world becomes when we understand the science behind seeing.

Storytelling for the Digital Age
This year, our podcast program returns in a new, streamlined format! Students in Writing Lab 1 and 2 will have the opportunity to transform their written work into polished audio recordings. Through guided mini-sessions, students will learn essential skills in voice recording, clarity, pacing, and simple sound mixing. Together, we’ll script, edit, and produce one or two short episodes.
Their finished podcasts will be showcased on our school’s podcast webpage—ready to share with family, friends, and the world.
