March 2025
Dear Parents,
We hope that you enjoyed the February break and were able to delight in some valuable time with your family! We look forward to resuming our classes this week and hearing all about your vacation adventures.

Standardized testing will take place in the Moreland School District during the month of May. The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP, will be administered to students in grades 3-8. All assessments will be completed using Chromebooks that will be provided to the HSP for our use. For those of you who would like to see sample questions, a link to Practice and Training Tests can be found here:
Online Practice and Training Tests Portal
The Practice Tests provide students with grade-specific testing experiences that are similar in structure and format to the Summative Assessments. The Training Tests allow students to become familiar with the software and interface features quickly. To access the practice tests, click on Practice and Training Tests for Students; sign on as a “guest”; select a grade level; select the practice or training buttons to begin a test.
After the students complete a practice or training test, parents may access resources such as scoring guides by clicking on the Practice and Training Test Resources button and selecting the CAASPP subject and grade level.
We will hold testing sessions in our HSP classroom during the weeks of May 5th and 12th. You will find an HSP testing schedule linked in next month’s newsletter. Please note that enrichment classes will not be held during testing.
The March Conference Schedule is now available! Please make sure to sign up for your preferred family conference at your earliest convenience, as time slots fill up quickly.
Finally, the Moreland School District will be closed on Friday, March 14th for staff development. Writing classes will not be held on this day.

Sincerely,
Lisa and Kelly
